10 Jun StudentsCare Receives $10,000 Project Innovation Award from NBC Universal Foundation
StudentsCare is honored to be a recipient of a $10,000 Project Innovation grant award from the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation. We are proud to be recognized as an organization leveraging innovation for social good. You can read more about the incredible program and winners here.
On June 6, we received our $10,000 check alongside six other local organizations making a difference in the community. We were featured in NBC Miami for this recognition. Our board member Lauren Sokol and two of our student volunteer “Buddies” from Florida International University, Loraine Sierra and Kayla Mohan, attended the check presentation ceremony.
Mohan reflected on her incredible experience. ” It almost felt like we were the spotlight of the event because everyone was asking us about StudentsCare and about us as individuals.” She added, “It was great talking to everyone at the news station and being able to represent StudentsCare and showcase the fact that StudentsCare is about quality students working together to support a common cause.”
Sierra shared similar sentiments. “It was honestly such a nice experience. Kayla and I enjoyed it so much, thank you for giving us the opportunity to attend this event!”
