January 2022: Zach Rundstrom

January 2022: Zach Rundstrom

Zach Rundstrom, sophomore at Arizona State University, has been volunteering with StudentsCare for just a few months now – and has certainly made a mark in his short time on our team. Recognizing that the pandemic created a great deal of need for so many, Zach started seeking out opportunities to do more for his community. After hearing about StudentsCare from a friend, Zach says he was hooked on the mission and knew participating would offer him the chance to make a real difference in the lives of those he would serve.

Through his StudentsCare experience, Zach is looking forward to making an impact on someone’s life. He wants to be a friend to those in need of connection, understanding just how important that can be. Zach says, “Connection can change lives and it can save lives, and volunteering with StudentsCare allows me to do that.” So far, Zach says his favorite memory is when he was visiting with a young patient who he was warned might have “a lot of energy.” Initially the patient was a little nervous to play, but once they started chasing each other with cars and Mr. Potato heads, he was having the time of his life.

Zach is currently studying Mechanical Engineering in hopes to become an engineer who “works on new and innovative technologies to change the world.” As long as he’s making a positive impact, Zach is open to ending up in a variety of roles. We are extra thankful for Zach’s help with our end-of-year fundraising efforts in 2021, and look forward to all he’ll do in 2022. Thank you, Zach, for your commitment to StudentsCare and our buddies!
