Katie Oleksiak

Program Manager

Katie is thrilled to have joined the team at StudentsCare in September 2021. As Program Manager, she will assist in overseeing the Hospital Buddy Program and Senior Buddy Program while working closely with student volunteer teams. She intends on cultivating meaningful relationships with both the facilities and universities StudentsCare works alongside, in order to strengthen the impact the organization has within the communities it serves.

Katie received her Bachelor of Arts in history with a minor in psychology from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA and, only really knowing she wanted to do “good work” in her career, completed the Executive Program in Social Impact Strategy at the University of Pennsylvania shortly thereafter. Prior to joining the team at StudentsCare, Katie served as Executive Director for a nonprofit organization that empowered young people to be stronger volunteers and community leaders through service-leadership training and exposure. In January 2020, she was one of the recipients of the Greater Philadelphia Social Innovations Award for Race and Gender Equity for her work in the Philadelphia community.

Katie is passionate about inspiring and supporting young leaders as they reach their full potential, and believes our communities thrive when we each do our part to lift one another up. Through her own endeavors and career in service, Katie has worked with and volunteered with many of Philadelphia’s finest organizations including Cradles to Crayons, MANNA, Smith Playground, the Philadelphia Phillies, and more. If you need a connection, a big idea, or a little motivation, Katie is the one to talk to.

Katie grew up in Abington, PA and now lives in the Brewerytown section of Philadelphia with her partner and dog.
