Pediatric Patient Returns Home After 5 Months at Ronald McDonald House

After 5 long months recovering from hip replacement surgery, 18-year-old Jadon returned home to Grenada last month. Due to an unfortunate accident during vacation in 2013, Jadon was left with a broken hip. Thankfully, our partners at World Pediatric Project flew Jadon and his father from Grenada to St. Louis and coordinated for Jadon to receive treatment by top orthopedic specialists. During his time recovering after surgery, Jadon stayed at the Ronald McDonald House where he was able to connect with StudentsCare Buddies, Ryan Jasper and Sharon Lee, each week over Zoom. Ryan shared:

“Being able to meet with Jadon virtually was one of the highlights of my semester. Even though we couldn’t meet face-to-face, having an avenue to connect with him and build a relationship with him is something I am extremely grateful for. While Jadon heading back home means less frequent interactions with him, the friendship and memories that we have made will stick with me. I have a lot of joy knowing he is back home laughing and smiling with his family. I am so thankful I was able to meet him and become buddies during this unprecedented time.”

We are so glad Jadon is back home, happy and healthy, and that you, our Buddies could be a part of his road to recovery!
